“I receive grants and scholarships specifically through ASU. It gives me the comfort of knowing that when I graduate, I can start making money and not have to be paying back a lot of loan debt.”

“My Carr Scholarship is a godsend. Being able to focus on academics and not worry about finances is definitely one of the perks of going to ASU. It has improved my performance as a student and given me the opportunity to get an education at a great school.”
A college education is within your grasp at Angelo State University. We offer scholarship programs that make tuition affordable for all. ASU also manages a major gift aid/financial aid program, providing assistance to three out of every four students.
Angelo State’s available gift aid is highlighted by the Carr Scholarship Program, which allows you to earn up to $3,000 annually by maintaining the pattern of academic success that you started in high school.
The Carr Scholarship Program is one of the largest scholarship endowments at a regional university in the United States. During the 2010–11 academic year, ASU students received $5,452,208 in Carr Scholarships. Named for ASU benefactors Robert G. and Nona K. Carr, the scholarships are awarded based on high school GPA or class rank and ACT/SAT and can be renewed each year by students who maintain the academic criteria. Carr Scholarships benefit one of every five ASU students.

Angelo State also offers additional scholarship programs that help all types of students pay for college—from those with special interests and extracurricular activities to transfer and nontraditional students. Our Financial Aid Office is also available to help students find types of aid that will fit their needs.
