ASU Glossary

In the brave new world of clever acronyms and abbreviations, the ASU vocabulary can sound like a military training manual. As a service to our students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends, we offer this guide to all the abbreviations and acronyms that are sprinkled liberally throughout our numerous campus programs.

Just as sports fans often need a program to identify players, so ASU community members may need help figuring out what it means to have a class in VIN 210, which RAMS program is for agriculture students and which one is for first-generation students, or whether it is the CSI, CIS or CSS that overseas study abroad programs.

Here we offer two versions of the ASU Glossary. One is an alphabetical list of terms while the other features the entries broken down by colleges, departments, programs, buildings and miscellaneous terms. We hope you will find these helpful during your time on campus.
