Howard College/ASU Partnership: Photography: Getting the Most Out of Your Camera

This course will provide basic instruction in the use of digital cameras. This class is for anyone who wants to learn how to take high quality images with a digital camera in any situation.

Topics will include types of digital cameras, various types of lenses, digital media formats, lighting situations, exposure modes, digital filters, camera accessories, flash photography, downloading images, Adobe PhotoShop, and image editing.


Learning Outcomes:

Demonstrate proficiency in the proper use of a digital camera in a variety of lighting situations. The proficiency will result through an understanding of basic exposure concepts including manual adjustment of speeds and apertures. Students will also have an understanding of basic computer downloading, editing, and photofinishing.

Supplies:

Digital Camera (An expensive digital camera is not required. The camera must be digital, though. It is recommended that the camera allow for exposure compensation or manual adjustments.)
