Civil War Lecture Series: Dr. Lorien Foote, Texas A&M: “Trails of Blood: Escaping the Confederacy”

Dr. Lorien Foote, Professor of History at Texas A&M, will visit Angelo State to discuss her latest Civil War research.  Dr. Foote is the author of Seeking the One Great Remedy: Francis George Shaw and Nineteenth-Century Reform (2003) and The Gentlemen and the Roughs: Manhood, Honor, and Violence in the Union Army (2010).

The History Department’s Civil War Commemoration Lecture series enters its third year with new discussions of baseball, medicine, Native Americans in the war, and slavery.
