F.A.M.E.: Collage Reception

Tuesday, March 18, 2014 7 - 9 p.m.

The Collage Reception will feature students from the theatre, art and music programs performing, creating and displaying various pieces from their repertoires throughout the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building, including the Modular Theatre, Eldon Black Recital Hall, upper and lower spines and upstairs art area.

Admission will be $3 for students and $5 for the general public, and refreshments will be served.

This reception marks the 17th annual fundraising event for Friends of Art and Music (FAME). Donations to FAME will also be accepted, with all proceeds going into the organization’s scholarship fund to benefit ASU fine arts students.

In addition to viewing art exhibits, attendees will be treated to student demonstrations and presentations about printmaking, art history, clay and pottery, art education, digital art, and painting and watercolors.

Student musicians will perform throughout the evening, including the ASU Jazz Combo, a bass ensemble, a saxophone quartet, a string quartet, a flute ensemble, a violin trio, a woodwind quintet and a trumpet ensemble.  Students in the theatre program will perform various presentations in the modular theatre throughout the evening.

The FAME Collage Reception is the organization’s primary fundraising effort of the year. Since its inception in 1998, FAME has awarded more than 304 scholarships to ASU students totaling more than $177,500.
