Walk-ins are welcome!  Find the Hero in you and Donate Blood!

Dear ASU Community,

Housing & Residential Programs will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 2:30pm - 5:15pm as part of our ULive: Life on Campus program.  ASU is home to over 2000 students during the academic year and over 300 students this summer.  ULive: Life on Campus is a focus on programming to get students involved in on-campus life and community engagement.

Please find the Hero in You and come donate!

Food will be served to donors at each drive AND donors will receive a goody bag filled with freebies, coupons from local restaurants, and a commemorative T-shirt!

Appointments can be made by contacting your Residence Hall Front Desk or RA.   They are recommended, but not required.

For those of you that have never donated blood before, the process takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.  It is a simple process broken down into 4 steps- 1) Interview, 2) mini-physical, 3) donation, 4) refreshments.

**You can save about 15 minutes by completing your “Health History Questionnaire” online at www.UnitedBloodServices.com before your donation.  This must be done the day of the drive and you will need access to a printer**

United Blood Services has been this area’s nonprofit community blood provider since 1956, and serves patients in 10 hospitals in 11 counties, including Tom Green County, Shannon Medical Center, and Community Hospital. The United Blood Services network is one of the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit blood service organizations, and is a founding member of America’s Blood Centers and the AABB (formerly the American Association of Blood Banks).

Blood that is donated at a United Blood Services community drive, stays in the community.  What an amazing gift it would be to know that your donation helped save someone in your community, possibly even someone you know!

Please help United Blood Services to achieve their mission of providing a safe and ample supply of blood for those in need, they desperately need Heroes to come the rescue.  Find the Hero in You and come out to donate!!
