ASU’s Multicultural Center and VETS Center will co-host a Veterans Day Celebration complete with a memorial wall and patriotic presentations on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Houston Harte University Center.

The celebration will run from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the UC lobby and is open free to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Angelo State’s ROTC Detachment 847 will perform the posting of the colors; students from the Visual and Performing Arts Department will sing the national anthem; a student veteran will give the invocation; and Ram Band members will play TAPS. Opening remarks will be given by ASU President Brian J. May, followed by presentations from Lt. Col. Pedro Matos, ROTC detachment commander, and ASU student Seth Spurgin, a veteran of service in Iraq.

The celebration will also feature a memorial wall where ASU faculty, staff, students and alumni can acknowledge both veterans and active duty military personnel.
