Symphony’s “Magic, Bullfights and Lightsabers”

The Angelo State University Symphony Orchestra will present a public concert titled “Magic, Bullfights and Lightsabers” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in the ASU Auditorium located in the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Avenue N.

The free concert will feature music from operas, movies and more, including Mozart’s “The Magic Flute Overture,” Bizet’s “Carmen Suite,” a piece from Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet Suite No. 2,” Gershwin’s “An American in Paris,” Grainger’s “Irish Tune from County Derry” and a six-movement “Star Wars Epic” with music from each of the six movies.

The ASU Symphony Orchestra is directed by Dr. Maurice Kelley, visiting assistant professor of music.
