Wind Ensemble: “America, the Beautiful”

Angelo State University’s Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Constance Kelley, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the ASU Auditorium in the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Avenue N.

Dr. Constance Kelley Dr. Constance Kelley The concert, titled “America, the Beautiful,” will also feature Patriotic Blue, a Goodfellow Air Force Base vocal ensemble. The group will accompany the Wind Ensemble on several pieces, including Carmen Dragon’s arrangement of “America, the Beautiful” and “Eternal Father, Strong to Save” by Claude T. Smith. The Wind Ensemble will also perform works by Dudley Buck, Robert Bennett and John Philip Sousa.

The Wind Ensemble is one of the premier instrumental performing ensembles at ASU. It educates its members and audiences by performing music literature of the most renowned composers and arrangers and often features faculty, student and guest soloists.

Kelley, an associate professor of music, is ASU’s interim director of bands.
