Christmas Tree Lighting
The lighting ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. near the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Avenue N, and is free and open to the public.
Activities, which will begin at 5 p.m., will include ice skating on a synthetic rink and photo opportunities in an inflatable snow globe provided by the University Center Program Council (UCPC). A special Holiday Pops performance will be provided by the ASU Symphony Orchestra, and ASU Greek Life will sponsor an ornament table where members of ASU’s registered student organizations will create ornaments for the tree.
Also, Baptist Student Ministry will host a cookie-decorating event. Members of the Society of Physics Students will be creating nitrogen-infused ice cream for participants to enjoy. Block and Bridle will be present with Dominic. Members of the Air Force ROTC will provide information about the history of the Memorial Oak Grove with photographs of the fallen soldiers the trees represent. Hot chocolate and cookies will also be provided.
The 15-foot Christmas tree will remain on display through the holiday season.
