Art Gallery: Abstract Expressionists

Angelo State University will feature an exhibit of abstract expressionist paintings by guest presenters David and Susan Harmon, opening Monday, June 6, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

Titled “Blended Expressions,” the exhibit will be housed in the EFA Building’s Gallery 193 and will be open for free public viewing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Wednesday, Aug. 10.

A native of St. Louis, Mo., David Harmon is chair of the Art Department and a professor of art at Howard Payne University in Brownwood. He has presented more than 130 exhibitions of his paintings and frequently juries art exhibitions and participates in panel presentations in such locations as Houston, New York City and San Antonio. Susan Harmon, a native of Chicago, is an adjunct instructor of art at Howard Payne and also teaches art at Central Texas College in Killeen. She has recently been commissioned to create five large public art murals for the city of San Marcos.
