Planetarium: “From Earth to the Universe”

The ASU Planetarium will present the full-dome public astronomy show “From Earth to the Universe” at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, in the Vincent Nursing-Physical Science Building, 2333 Vanderventer St.

“From Earth to the Universe” takes viewers on a virtual journey to revel in the splendor of the various planets in our solar system and the ferocity of the scorching sun.The journey then leaves Earth to take the audience out to the colorful birthplaces and burial grounds of stars, and then goes beyond the Milky Way to myriad galaxies.

Along the way, the audience will learn about the history of astronomy, the invention of the telescope, and today’s giant telescopes that allow us continue to probe ever deeper into the universe. The show is directed by Greek filmmaker Theofanis Matsopoulos and features a sweeping soundtrack from Norwegian composer Johan Monell.
