The Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health and San Angelo Community Medical Center’s Healthy Woman program will host GiRL Power February 18, 2012. The event will be held in the Houston Harte University Center on the campus of Angelo State University in the C.J. Davidson ballroom from 9 am – 2 pm. GiRL Power is a fun filled event to provide 4th through 6th grade girls and their mothers (or other important women in their lives) with information to live a healthier life both physically, mentally and emotionally. Mothers and their pre-teen daughters will have the opportunity to talk about self-esteem, exercise, nutrition, internet safety, bullying, and even more importantly, how to communicate with each other. GiRL Power will provide tools for healthier communication and healthier life habits for years to come.
The cost of the event is $15 for a mother/daughter ticket or $7.50 for an individual. Scholarships are available. For information and tickets contact the event coordinator Kelsey Samsel at Kelsey.firstname.lastname@example.org or 325-486-6475. Visit: www.angelo.edu/lwbiwh or Facebook- LWBIWHSA.
