Clarinet and Piano Recital

featuring Dr. Tim Bonenfant and guest pianist, Martha Saywell

This is a recital of three pieces for clarinet & piano, and one for bass clarinet & piano. The pianist is former ASU piano professor Martha Saywell, who now chairs the music department at Texas A&M San Antonio.


Recital pieces include:

States of Mind by ASU Professor Stephen Emmons

for bass clarinet & piano (World Premiere)


Sonata for clarinet & piano by Amanda Harberg

Gate by Graham Fitkin

Dr. Bonenfant will also be performing all of these pieces at conferences in the US and Europe during the coming spring and summer.

Six of the pieces (Haxo, both of the Kavasch pieces, Merkowitz, Larsen, and Harberg) will be performed at the 2nd Annual Music by Women Festival at the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS. The festival occurs on March 1-3.

Three of the pieces will be performed at regional conferences of the College Music Society. The pieces by Emmons and Fitkin will be played at the CMS South Central Regional Conference on March 15th in Durant, OK, at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. “Eefer Madness” will be played at at the CMS Pacific South West Regional Conference on March 17 in Las Vegas, NV, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. 

The Asia and the Fitkin will be performed at the International Clarinet Association Clarinetfest 2018 in Ostend, Belgium in July of this year.
