Several ASU student groups and faculty will join with the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts (SAMFA) to co-host Family Day Art and Science on Saturday, April 14, at SAMFA, 1 Love St. in downtown San Angelo.

This event is designed to show attendees the connections between art and science in a fun family setting. With an overall theme of “You Can’t Create Art Without Science,” activities will include a Geology Fossil Dig, shrinking plastic to make jewelry, light-up greeting cards, and much more.

Participants can also enjoy Chemistry Magic Shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., as well as an Art Bot Workshop and a cool, science-related “snacktivity.”

ASU student groups participating in the event are:

  • American Chemical Society
  • Tri-Beta national biology honor society
  • Geologic Exposition Organization (GEO)
  • Society of Physics Students.

ASU civil engineering students and members of the TAME: Art Engineers will also take part.
