Student Activities Graduate Assistant



Seeking organized, creative and self-motivated individual to help plan, coordinate and implement programming for Greek Life. In addition, this position will assist the student Homecoming Committee with event logistics and implementation. Position requires an individual with attention to detail, strong communication skills and computer skills. Individual must be proficient in all Microsoft programs; have ability to multi-task and work independently or within a group; and to complete tasks with little supervision and manage time effectively. Individual should display professionalism in all work duties and possess excellent customer service skills.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Assist in developing and facilitating training for the three Greek governing Councils (IFC, Panhellenic and Greek Council)
  • Work with Greek governing Councils (IFC, Panhellenic and Greek Council) to develop training and programming for Greek Chapters
  • Attend weekly meetings for the Greek governing Councils (IFC, Panhellenic and Greek Council)
  • Assist with logistics of all Greek Programs (Greek Week, recruitment, Christmas with the Greeks, Greek 101, Greek EDU, etc.)
  • Help develop recruitment and retention plans to increase Greek membership on campus
  • Help manage all social media pages for Greek Life and Homecoming
  • Assist with web pages for Greek Life and Homecoming using LiveWhale
  • Help with event promotions, planning and execution of events for Greek Life, Homecoming and MSAP events/programs as needed
  • Maintain a calendar of events for Greek Life and chapter events
  • Assist with interviews for Homecoming Committee
  • Assist Homecoming Committee with logistics of annual homecoming events
  • Attend Homecoming Committee meetings s needed
  • Take pictures at events/programs
  • Assist with greeting of students, faculty, staff, families and community customers by phone or in person



  • Ability to operate personal computers using appropriate software such as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), Banner, LiveWhale and Adobe
  • Ability to organize and complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner with minimal supervision
  • Skilled in oral and written communication
  • Ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and the general public in a professional manner.
  • Skilled in critical thinking to anticipate potential problems or issues
  • Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, competence, and resourcefulness
  • Ability to perform effectively in stressful situations



  • Able to work 15-17.5 hours per week.
  • Provide leadership to Greek Councils including training and supervision
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA


Preferred Qualification

  • Experience with Greek Life culture



Flexible around class schedule, expected to work 15-17.5 hours per week. Will require some evening and weekend duties for events.
