September 22, 2015
Friday’s issue of the Ram Page, ASU’s weekly student newspaper, has a story about the new Web and Mobile Development certificate.
In the article, students give their take on the new certificate. See the story online here: Web and mobile development certificate now offered
The new certificate in Web and Mobile Development joins our existing certificate in Computer Game Development. Students can earn either certificate (or both) whether or not they also complete a degree. The four required courses are
- CS 1351 (Java Programming), an introduction to programming using Java, a popular language on the web,
- CS 3312 (Web Programming), a new course covering client-side programming in JavaScript (not to be confused with Java!),
- CS 3372 (Handheld Game Development), covering game development for Android devices using Java and XML and
- CS 4312 (Internet Technologies), covering server-side programming in PHP.
The department hopes to offer CS 3312 for the first time in spring 2016.
