Grad Psychology Program Ranked ‘Most Affordable’
March 03, 2016
ASU was ranked No. 20 on the list and is one of seven Texas schools to make the rankings. To be eligible, schools must have a total undergraduate enrollment of fewer than 7,000 students and offer master’s degrees in psychology at an affordable cost.
The specific ASU program cited for the rankings is the online Master of Science in applied psychology degree. The program is offered completely online, but students also have the option of taking some elective courses on campus and working with faculty on research projects.
According to the BMIP website, “This master’s degree in psychology allows students to take courses that are relevant to their career goals. This flexibility coupled with the online format makes Angelo State ideal for working adults who want to enter the field or advance in their current workplace.”
Dr. Kristi Cordell-McNulty, director of ASU’s applied psychology program, said, “We are extremely proud to receive another national ranking. In addition to other rankings that highlight the quality of our program, this ranking from BestMastersInPsychology.com shows that we offer a quality program that is flexible and affordable.”
ASU also offers traditional M.S. in counseling psychology and M.S. in industrial-organizational psychology degree programs with classes taken on campus.
The other Texas schools ranked by BestMastersInPsychology.com are Midwestern State University, Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Texas A&M-International, Texas A&M-Texarkana, Texas Southern University and University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
