2016 Outstanding Graduate Students

Angelo State University honored its 2016 Outstanding Graduate Students during the annual Graduate Research Symposium and Awards Ceremony on April 29 in the Houston Harte University Center.

Dr. Susan Keith, dean of the College of Graduate Studies, presented awards to this year's Outstanding Graduate Students. The highlight of the event was the announcement of this year’s top graduate students by Dr. Susan Keith, dean of the College of Graduate Studies.  Honorees each received a certificate of recognition. 

The Outstanding Graduate Students for the College of Arts and Sciences, listed by their hometown and major, are Kelsey Merritt of Beasley, communication; and Lexus Weinheimer of Stonewall, animal science. 

College of Education honorees are Lindsey Elliot of San Angelo, student development and leadership in higher education; Joe Gandar of San Angelo, educational administration; Kisha Samsel of Midland, guidance and counseling; and Emily Smyth of Lubbock, curriculum and instruction. 

Honorees for the Archer College of Health and Human Services are Lynette Carrillo of San Angelo, counseling psychology; Courtney Craft of Brady, family nurse practitioner; Kara Edwards of Bastrop, coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration; Madison Huth of The Colony, applied psychology; Heidi Moyer of Tuscon, Ariz., physical therapy; and Brenda Sanchez of San Angelo, nurse educator. 

ASU graduate students who presented research posters during the Graduate Research Symposium were also recognized.
