Online M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling Nationally Ranked

Angelo State University’s Master of Education in guidance and counseling degree program has been ranked one of the nation’s “Top 10 Online Master’s Degrees in Student Affairs and College Counseling” by BestCounselingDegrees.net, an education resource guide for students seeking careers or advancement in psychology and counseling fields.

ASU’s program ranked No. 7 and was one of two programs at Texas schools to make the list. To be eligible, programs had to be offered at regionally accredited universities. Data for the rankings was gathered from the Institute of Education Sciences’ College Navigator with affordability being a primary factor. 

The ASU Master of Education in guidance and counseling degree requires 36 credit hours and can be completed totally online in 24 months. It prepares students to seek certification as a Texas school counselor.

The only other Texas school with a counseling program ranked by BestCounselingDegrees.net was Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie.
