ASU Wind Ensemble to Sample World’s Music

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center and is open free to the public.
The centerpiece of the program will be Julie Giroux’s “Culloden,” a folk and Gaelic “commoners” piece from 1745 Scotland. Other featured selections will include “Variations on a Korean Folk Song” by John Barnes Chance, “Marche Militaire Francaise” by Camille Saint-Saens and “Dakota Fanfare” by Erik Morales.
The Wind Ensemble is ASU’s premier instrumental performing ensemble. It strives to educate its members and audiences by performing music literature by the most renowned composers and arrangers. It is directed by Dr. Daniel McCloud, assistant professor of music and director of bands.
