Angelo State University music professor Dr. Tim Bonenfant will be joined by three Houston musicians for the premiere concert of the Houston Clarinet Ensemble Texas Tour on Wednesday, March 21, in the ASU Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the EFA Building’s Eldon Black Recital Hall and is open free to the public.

Performing with Bonenfant will be fellow clarinetists Richard Nunemaker, Nancy Angerstein and Richard Perricone.  Nunemaker is a retired member of the Houston Symphony Orchestra.  Angerstein and Perricone are members of the Houston Symphonic Band.

The musical works for the program will be compositions by Jody Rockmaker, Robert Nelson, Reynaldo Ochoa and Jorge Montilla for various combinations of four clarinets, and will include also one duet.

Following the ASU concert, the tour will continue with stops at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, University of St. Thomas in Houston, Sam Houston State University in Huntsville and Texas State University in San Marcos, culminating on March 29 with a performance at the University of Texas in Austin.  On March 30, the group will record the Nelson and Ochoa pieces in a Houston studio for a possible CD release.
