Online MSN Programs Win ‘Students Before Profits’ Award

July 11, 2017

Angelo State University’s online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs have earned a 2017 Best Online Master’s in Nursing: Students Before Profits Award from Nonprofit Colleges Online, an education resource guide dedicated to connecting students with quality, affordable online programs.

2017 Students Before Profits Award Badge ASU’s programs ranked No. 34 in the U.S. among those at only 50 institutions nationwide that received a 2017 Students Before Profits Award. Only programs at accredited, nonprofit colleges and universities were eligible for the rankings. ASU also received a Students Before Profits Award for its online MSN programs in 2014.

According to Nonprofit Colleges Online, “The Students Before Profits Awards were created to recognize nonprofit colleges and universities offering degrees that put students before profits and education before the bottom-line. For our ranking of the 2017 Online Master’s in Nursing winners, we chose online Nursing degree programs from nonprofit colleges and universities, accredited by independent and trusted accreditation boards, with lower than average tuition costs, and have ranked them by affordability.”

Students in ASU’s online MSN degree programs can choose a specialization of either Nurse Educator or Family Nurse Practitioner. A collaborative MSN program with Texas Tech University that leads to certification as either an adult care nurse practitioner or pediatric primary care nurse practitioner is also available. More information on all ASU’s graduate nursing degree programs is available at www.angelo.edu/dept/nursing/msn.php

The only other Texas schools to receive a Students Before Profits Award for their online MSN programs were Lamar University, the University of Texas at Arlington, UT-Tyler and West Texas A&M University. The complete list is available at www.nonprofitcollegesonline.com/best-online-msn-programs/.
