Motor Vehicle Operator
Must have experience in the safe operation of motor vehicles, with a gross vehicle weight up to 7,000 pounds. Must have a valid driver’s license. must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally load objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Subject to satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Operates a government vehicle up to one ton on a regular and recurring basis. makes daily linen pick-up and delivery throughout the transient facilities. Receives soiled linen, verifies count, and sorts linen by type. Delivers furniture, appliances, supplies, etc. as required. Receives soiled linen from individuals, organizations, and base units, verifies count, inspects items for serviceability, sorts linen by type, and issues clean items on an item-for-item basis. Receives clean items from the commercial facility, verifies quantity and stores items for future issue. Prepares associated documentation. Loads and unloads cargo by hand, sometimes assisted by others. Is responsible for exercising normal caution in preventing overloading and in securing cargo to prevent damage or loss in transit and for the safety and comfort of passengers. Determines shortest and safest routes. Observes safety rules and regulations in addition to posted traffic controls and highway guide signs. Performs operator maintenance as require, washes and vacuums vehicles in compliance with established policies on all NAF Lodging vehicles. As needed, performs laborer duties such as operating carpet cleaning machine, wet vacuum cleaner, moving and arranging furniture.
Mon-Fri 7:30-4:30, to include some weekends and holidays.
