Three Online Master’s Programs Nationally Ranked

Angelo State University’s online graduate degree programs in guidance and counseling and homeland security have been ranked among the nation’s best and most affordable programs in their respective disciplines for 2018 by the BestValueSchools.com higher education resource guide.

Best Value Schools Most Affordable Online Degree Programs Badge ASU’s online Master of Education in guidance and counseling program ranked No. 2 in the U.S. among the “Top 35 Most Affordable Online Educational Counseling Degree Programs,” and ASU’s online Master of Science in homeland security program ranked No. 5 among the “Top 20 Most Affordable Online Master’s in Homeland Security Degree Programs.” 

Only programs at accredited nonprofit colleges and universities were eligible for the rankings, which were based on tuition information from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Navigator database and rankings by U.S. News and World Report, The Princeton Review and other major publications. 

The only other Texas institutions ranked for their educational counseling programs were the University of North Texas and Texas A&M University. ASU was the only Texas institution ranked for its homeland security program. 

Best Value Schools Top Online Programs Badge Additionally, BestValueSchools.com has ranked ASU’s online Master of Science in applied psychology degree program among the nation’s “Top 25 Online Psychology Master’s Degree Programs” for 2018. 

ASU’s program ranked No. 13 in the U.S. and is one of only three programs at Texas institutions to make the rankings list. Only accredited programs at nonprofit public and private colleges and universities with tuition costs of less than $20,000 per year were eligible for the rankings. Eligible programs were evaluated for accessibility, academic breadth, academic uniqueness, available advanced opportunities and affordability based on data from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Navigator. 

The other Texas schools with Top 25 psychology programs were Texas A&M University and the University of North Texas.
