ASU to Host TSTA Student Conference

Angelo State University will host the Texas State Teachers Association (TSTA) District 5 Student Conference on Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The conference will run from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and will include guest speakers and workshops addressing education topics for all grade levels and content areas. All students interested in becoming educators are encouraged to attend, and attendees do not have to be TSTA members.

Guest speakers will be Beth Huckabee, TSTA Elementary Teacher of the Year from Flour Bluff, Texas, speaking from 9-10 a.m., and Noel Candelaria, TSTA vice president, speaking from 2-3 p.m. Workshops will be held from 10 a.m.-noon and 1-2 p.m., with lunch from noon-1 p.m.

Registration is $20 per person until Sept. 15. After that, it will be $25 per person.
