Counselors and Substitute Counselors

Employer: YMCA
Posted: January 14, 2013

Qualifications/Duties

We prefer Education or Kinesiology majors, though anyone with a passion for working with children, and a willingness to bring creativity, dedication and initiative to the program is encouraged to apply. This is a hands on, active position – candidates must be willing to play, create, and have fun, while still being an authority figure. We take the responsibility for each child enrolled in our program seriously and expect our staff to do the same. Licensed by the State of Texas; staff must pass Criminal History and FBI Fingerprint background checks. We require 10 hours of training per semester. Candidates must be prepared to attend training and mandatory meetings after work.

2:30-6:00 pm Monday – Friday. (18 hrs/week) Substitutes can expect to work 2-3 shifts per week.

Salary

Starting pay is $7.25/hour. Staff meeting training and performance requirements receive pay increases each semester.
