ASU Bass Anglers Place at FLW Tournament
January 29, 2013
Ryan Easterly and Ethan George, both of San Angelo, caught five bass weighing a total of 13 pounds, 10 ounces to claim fourth place and a $500 prize. Their finish also earned them a place in the two-day Southern Conference Invitational Oct. 5-6 at Sam Rayburn Reservoir near Beaumont, and a chance to advance the National Championship Tournament April 19-21, 2014, in Arkansas. The next FLW College Southern Conference qualifying tournament is scheduled for Feb. 16 at Toledo Bend Reservoir near Hemphill.
All participants in FLW tournaments must be registered, full-time undergraduate students at four-year colleges or universities, and must be members of fishing clubs recognized by their institutions. Formed in 1996, FLW is named for Forrest L. Wood, the founder of Ranger Boats. It is considered the premier tournament fishing organization in the U.S., and organizes tournaments at the high school, college and professional levels.
