ASU Staffers Earn Regional CASE Awards

April 01, 2013

Two members of Angelo State University’s communications and marketing staff – Danny Meyer and Michael Martin – have been recognized for their work by District IV of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

University Photographer Meyer earned a Gold Award for Color Photography–Athletics for “Stretched to the Limit,” an action photo of Rams outfielder Ryan Greer diving for a fly ball during a home baseball game last season.

Martin, ASU’s director of graphics, received a Silver Award for Design–Publication Design Series for the “Get Advised, Then Get Away Campaign,” which encouraged students last academic year to get advised before spring break.

The awards were announced at the CASE District IV annual meeting in Fort Worth last week.  CASE is a professional organization of higher education professionals in the fields of alumni relations, development, communications and marketing.  District IV includes colleges and universities in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

The CASE recognitions were the second for the respective works of Martin and Meyer.  Martin’s “Get Advised, Then Get Away Campaign” received a Gold Addy and Best of Print Award from the American Advertising Federation-San Angelo last month.  The entry was printed by Henry Begil and Aaron Carillo of the ASU Print Shop.

Meyer’s baseball photo earned a Silver Addy from the American Advertising Federation-San Angelo.
