Trumpet Solo Artist to Perform at ASU, SAMFA

Ackley will present a trumpet master class on Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. in ASU’s Eldon Black Recital Hall inside the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building, 2602 Dena Drive. On Oct. 9, he will perform at 2 p.m. at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts (SAMFA), 1 Love St., as part of the San Angelo Chamber Music Series.
The master class is open free to the public. Tickets for the Sunday performance at SAMFA are available at $12 general admission, $10 for members and $7 for students, seniors and military.
The Cincinnati native has performed with orchestras, wind ensembles and chamber groups in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador. He has also performed as a recitalist in South America, the U.S. and throughout Europe.
Ackley received a Bachelor of Music from Baldwin-Wallace College and a Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is an associate professor at the University of South Carolina School of Music.
