Code Compliance - Maintenance Worker

Qualifications/Duties

Under general supervision, performs unskilled general labor and maintenance work for Citizen’s lots that are in violation of ordinances pertaining to tall grass and weeds and for the accumulation of junk and unsightly material in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. Operates a variety of specialized equipment and performs general manual labor tasks in order to bring these properties into compliance with our ordinances. Duties will include removing debris, heavy lifting, mowing, and helping Code Officers manage involuntary compliance. Performs maintenance and repairs within scope of authority, and in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; reports safety hazards, equipment problems and emergency situations. Cleans and stores hazardous materials according to City policy and procedures.  High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND one year of general work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required knowledge of City safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skills in safe and efficient operation and maintenance of tools and equipment; and closely following verbal and written instructions and procedures. Work is performed outdoors and requires constant physical efforts, and ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.  

Days/Times

Mon. – Fri., 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. This is a temporary/seasonal position.

Salary

$12/hr
