ASU College of Business Seminar

October 24, 2013

The Angelo State University College of Business will host a seminar on managing an organization’s reputation on Friday, Nov. 1, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

The seminar, titled “Because Everyone Is Watching,” will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon in Room 211 of the University Center.  Presenters will include Dr. Karen Shumway, associate dean of the College of Business, and Ruth Kinzey, a public relations expert and author of Using Public Relations Strategies to Promote Your Nonprofit Organization.

Discussion topics will include what it means to manage an organization’s reputation, tips to enhance the reputation and strategies to protect it.  Cost of the seminar is $25 per person and includes morning refreshments.

“Managing your organization’s reputation is critical to long-term success,” Shumway said.  “If a crisis does arise in your organization, key predictors of survival include the organization’s prior reputation and implementation of effective crisis management techniques.  This workshop will provide tips and skills that participants will be able to take back to their organization and implement quickly.”

The seminar is co-sponsored by the ASU Small Business Development Center, San Angelo Chamber of Commerce and United Way of the Concho Valley.
