ASU Multicultural Center to Honor Veterans

Angelo State University’s Multicultural Center will host a Veteran’s Day Celebration complete with refreshments and patriotic music on Thursday, Nov. 11, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

The celebration will run from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 11 in the central spine of the University Center and is open free to the public. Refreshments will include hero sandwiches and cakes decorated with the U.S. flag and seals of the five military branches.

Angelo State’s ROTC detachment will perform the posting of the colors, and students from the Art and Music Department will sing the national anthem. ASU President Joseph C. Rallo, an Air Force veteran, will provide opening remarks. Following Rallo to the podium will be Dr. Bill McKinney, a military veteran and associate professor of real estate in the ASU Accounting, Economics and Finance Department. An ASU military veteran student will also speak.

ASU faculty, staff, students and alumni who are military veterans have been invited to provide pictures that will be displayed on an appreciation banner and at tables set up for the celebration. ASU Veteran’s Day commemorative bracelets will also be distributed.
