OASIS 2014 Release Party

The 2014 edition of OASIS, the student arts and literary magazine of Angelo State University had its official debut, Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at a release party at the LeGrand Alumni Center.

Congratulations to the student editors, Rachel Riggs, Jennifer Frias, Valerie DelaRosa, and Kim Garza.

Several students read selections from this year’s edition, and as always, a lovely cake was served.   The photos below were taken by Dr. Terry Dalrymple.

    On Tuesday evening, our local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society, inducted fifteen new members.
  • On November 2nd, Dr. Jules Gates, associate professor of English, presented her creative nonfiction poem “From His Coy Mistress” on a panel with two other creative nonfiction writers at the 2015 South Central Modern Language Conference (SCMLA) in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Dr. Chris Ellery, a professor of English in Angelo State University’s Department of English and Modern Languages, has won first prize in the eighth biennial X.J. Kennedy Award for Creative Nonfiction administered by Rosebud Magazine.
