ASU Prof’s Research Honored

A paper written by Dr. Jeffrey Schonberg of the Angelo State University English faculty was named the Best Research Paper in Language, Literature and Linguistics at the third annual International Conference of the Global Science and Technology Forum earlier this month in Bangkok, Thailand.

Schonberg presented his paper titled “Discursive Competition: Narrative Tensions in Chinese Literacy and Socio-Religious Discourse” at the conference, and it was also published in the conference proceedings.

A professor of English, Schonberg is the coordinator of the English Language Learning and Linguistics program in the ASU Department of English and Modern Languages. His research interests include classical and contemporary rhetorical theory, historical and syntax-focused linguistics, cultural studies, Asian and American Southwest archaeology, and ethnography.
