ASU Club Café to Host TV Favorite Comic

March 22, 2010

Loni Love, who was named one of the top 10 comics to watch by Variety and Comedy Central, will perform at the Angelo State University Club Café coffeehouse entertainment series Wednesday, March 31, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

Admission to the 7:30 p.m. performance in the C.J. Davidson Conference Center is $1, and the audience will be treated to coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, cookies, brownies and other refreshments.

Besides her notices in Variety and on Comedy Central, Love was named the hot comic for 2009 by Campus Activity magazine. She performs regularly at comedy club venues and on the college circuit, and she can also be seen on many popular television programs.

Comedy Central put Love in the spotlight in 2007 with her own half-hour special, and she has appeared on the cable channel’s “Premium Blend,” “Weekends at the DL” and “Chocolate News.”

In addition, she has appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn,” “The Best Damn Sports Show Period” and VH1’s “I Love the 70s, 80s and 90s.” She regularly appears as a panelist on E!’s hit show “Chelsea Lately” and TruTV’s “The Smoking Gun Presents: The World’s Dumbest.”
