Samantha had always been interested in being an entrepreneur.  She was working for a small business owner who sold t-shirts to individuals and sports teams.  The owner was getting close to retirement and asked Samantha if she would be interested in purchasing the business.

Samantha thought this would be a perfect time to find out if she could run her own business. Samantha met with Advisor Paul Howard of the Angelo State University • Small Business Development Center to discuss the purchase of this small business. Paul suggested client get information from the seller of the business and the need to write a business plan. Samantha did just that. She presented her business plan to her lender and was granted a loan to purchase the business. Samantha says, “The SBDC was an enormous help when it came to technicalities of the startup phase.”

Samantha updated the building with improvements and purchased additional equipment such as an embroidery machine which brought in more customers. The business added two jobs to the San Angelo economy.
