New ASU Toastmasters Club Open to All

February 03, 2015

Angelo State University’s Office of Human Resources is inviting all ASU alumni and the public to join the newly-formed ASU Toastmasters Club that will meet weekly in the Centennial Village residence hall, 2675 W. Avenue N, on the ASU campus.

The club met for the first time on Feb. 2 and will continue to meet on Mondays at 1 p.m. in the Centennial Village Sky Room, located in the south wing of the residence hall. Membership in the club is encouraged as a professional development opportunity for ASU employees, and ASU alumni and the public are also welcome to join.

Toastmasters Club meetings provide multiple opportunities for members to improve communication skills, demonstrate leadership abilities, gain self-confidence and learn how to run successful meetings. They are also a great place to network and meet new colleagues.

Dues for the ASU Toastmasters Club are $36 per person for a six-month membership, plus a one-time $20 new member fee for educational materials. Members can attend as many or as few meetings as they wish and can participate and learn at their own pace.

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills.
