I spy, something different!
February 26, 2015
Have you noticed anything different about the Library but you just can’t place your finger on it? If you feel like something has changed, it absolutely has!
Upon walking in you will not see a “new” Library but keep looking because plenty of changes have been made! Each floor added some much needed upgrades, simple changes, or repairs to make sure everything you need is available and in good working order. Take a stroll and see what all has been done to better our Library and help meet your needs.
We heard your request for more quiet study areas located away from the hustle and bustle of the Learning Commons. In addition to the Quiet Study Room on the 2nd floor, Study Zone on the 1st Floor and the Group Study Rooms available for check out, you will now find another Quiet Study area along the back (South) wall in the Basement. We moved multiple ranges of shelves in order to create this space. We placed additional tables and chairs, a partition wall, and installed several electrical outlets at table height for your convenience.
Due to the popularity of the study booths and reading nooks on the First Floor, we noticed they were in need of attention. The amazing crew at Facilities Management reupholstered the seating areas and repainted the walls to make these units feel like new again. We hope your stay is “smooth” each and every time.
Last but not least, we noticed how heavily used the computers, laptops, and printers were and decided it was time to retire this equipment. We worked with the incredible staff from IT and in early January replaced ALL of the computers, laptop computers, and printers in the Library.
We hope you are enjoying your new equipment, study booths, and study areas. Stay tuned, we have more improvements planned.
