April 01, 2015
Overall, ASU’s program was ranked No. 18 on the list and is one of three Texas schools to be ranked in the top 25. According to a news release from BestMedicalDegrees.com, the rankings were developed from a variety of public sources, including U.S. News and World Report and the American Psychological Association. Key components considered were estimated tuition costs, length of program, accreditation and general coursework studied.
Dr. Kristi Cordell-McNulty, director of ASU’s applied psychology program, said, “This ranking demonstrates that we have a high-quality online master’s degree in psychology that students can use for a variety of purposes, including career advancement, teaching at a community college, or as a stepping stone to a doctoral program. We strive to keep our classes small so students receive individual attention from our full-time faculty, who all have terminal degrees.”
The other Texas schools with online graduate psychology programs ranked in the top 25 were Texas A&M University and LeTourneau University in Longview. The complete rankings can be found at BestMedicalDegrees.com.
The ASU Master of Science in applied psychology program requires 36 credit hours and can be completed totally online or in a hybrid online/classroom format. An undergraduate degree in psychology is not required for admission to the program. Find more information here.
ASU also offers traditional master’s degrees in counseling psychology and industrial-organizational psychology. More details on all the graduate psychology programs are available here.
