Accounting Prof Re-elected to National Post

Dr. Norman Sunderman, a professor of accounting at Angelo State University, has been re-elected to a second three-year term on the Board of Governors of NASBITE International, an organization of business trade professionals and educators.
Also re-elected treasurer for a second two-year term, Sunderman will continue to be responsible for transactions and for examining the financial records and budgets prepared by the NASBITE staff at Cleveland State University. He has been a member of the organization’s Board of Governors since April of 2012.
A 28-year faculty member in the ASU Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Sunderman is active in study abroad programs and has presented or co-presented at NASBITE annual conferences in 2005, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. He has led study abroad trips in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2014 and is leading a trip to France, Germany and Belgium this summer that will focus on economic issues arising from the formation of the European Union and European culture and business etiquette.
Formerly a professor of music, Sunderman has received teaching awards in both music and accounting. In 1978, he was named the Outstanding Music Professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. In 2008, he was named Professor of the Year in the College of Business by the ASU Student Government Association, and the Outstanding Accounting Educator for small colleges and universities by the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. In 2009, he received the Distinguished Faculty Award for the College of Business from the ASU Alumni Association.
Sunderman holds a Bachelor of Science in education from Bowling Green State University and both a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Michigan. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Professional Accountancy from Texas A&M-Kingsville.
