Dr. Deborah Stafford

Part-Time Lecturer Department of Physical Therapy

Experience

Ms. Stafford received her BS degree in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI in 1990 and her post-professional Master of Physical Therapy degree with a neurology focus in 1998 from University of Maryland at Baltimore.  She received a certification in NDT in 1994 and Complex Lymphedema Therapy certification in 2002.   Clinical experience beginning in 1990 has included inpatient and outpatient neurorehabilitation, acute care, women’s health, and outpatient orthopedics. Ms. Stafford’s graduate work included research on a functional outcome measure for wheelchair users which was presented at the Combined Sections Meeting in Seattle, WA in 1999 and published in theArchives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, 2003.  

Ms. Stafford joined the Physical Therapy Department in fall 2006 and teaches a spinal cord injury unit in the Essentials of Rehab Practice course.  

She is an active member of the Texas Physical Therapy Association and American Physical Therapy Association.
