Dr. Roehrig received her BS degree in Physical Therapy and MS degree in Educational Psychology/Physical Therapy at the University of Kentucky and PhD in Educational Foundations from the University of New Mexico. She received her certification in NDT in 2002.
She has over 40 years of clinical practice in physical therapy including in-patient rehabilitation, acute care, SNF, and home health care. Concurrently with her clinical practice, she taught physical therapy 32 years at four different universities with primary focus on the adult neurological rehabilitation and psychosocial courses. She has had publications in Physical Therapy, Journal of Physical Therapy Education, Physiotherapy Theory and Practice, Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy and Pediatric Physical Therapy and has made a number of local and national presentations.
Dr. Roehrig is active in the American Physical Therapy Association and Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. In APTA, she has held local and state positions in four states including Texas Physical Therapy Association offices of Midwest District Chair and Speaker of the Assembly. In FSBPT, she has been an item writer for the National Physical Therapy Examination since 2001 and is a member of the Academy of Advanced Item Writers and former Member of the Item Bank Review Committee.
She joined the faculty in fall 2013 teaching selected labs in Neuromusucular Examination and Management.
