I Am ASU Contest Rules and Regulations
Contest Period
The “I am ASU” contest begins at 12:01 a.m. (Central Time) Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, and concludes at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time) Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010. All entries must be submitted by the contest deadline. Late entries will not be accepted.
Eligibility
- The contest is open to all full- and part-time undergraduate and graduate students.
- The contest is not open to ASU faculty, staff or administration officials.
- Individual students may enter as many videos as they would like.
Contest Rules
Videos may be one to two minutes in length and should contain somewhere in the video the theme “I am ASU.” All videos submitted must be free of any inappropriate language and images, sexual content or illegal activity. Videos should contain a positive message. Blatant commercial advertising or product placement in videos is not acceptable.
Videos must comply with YouTube’s Terms of Use. Contest managers will review all videos, and if any are deemed inappropriate, they will be declared ineligible and will not be posted.
Entrants must complete and submit the contest entry form with each video to be eligible.
Finalists
Voting will be open to all ASU students between Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, and Friday, Oct. 15, 2010. The video with the most votes will be named the winner. Finalists will be contacted via the e-mail address they submitted in the online entry form. The contest sponsor will not be responsible for failed attempts to contact the selected entrants.
Prizes
Prizes will be as follows:
- First Place: 8G iPod Touch
- Second Place: 8G iPod Nano
- Third Place: $25 ASU Bookstore gift card
Students may submit a contest entry as a group, but it will be up to the group to divide any prize winnings among participants.
Publication
All videos submitted, whether as a winning entry or not, may be used by Angelo State University in whole or in part, royalty free, in any printed or electronic media and in promotional materials, including recruitment and online publications.
Originality
All entries must be original, unpublished and created solely by the submitting entrant(s) and not violate the intellectual property rights, copyright or right of property of any third party. Copyrighted materials will not be accepted unless specific permission for the use of such materials can be shown.
Conduct
Angelo State University reserves the right, at its discretion, to disqualify anyone found:
- Tampering with the entry process or the operation of the contest, YouTube, or the website promoting the contest
- Acting in violation of the Rules and Regulations
- Acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person
Caution: Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operations of the giveaway is in violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, sponsors reserve the right to seek damages from any such entrant to the fullest extent of the law.
