Transient / Non-Degree Seeking Students

Transient Students

Transient students are those who are enrolled as a degree-seeking student at another college or university, but would like to earn credit at Angelo State.

  1. Complete an application through ApplyTexas.

  2. Submit your official transcript or letter of good standing from the college/university currently attending.

    Electronic transcripts are preferred and can allow for faster processing of your application.

    Please do not submit transcripts via email. Request your transcripts be sent to us from your college or university. Please visit our transcript resources page for more information and links to order transcripts from Texas colleges and universities.

    If you do want to mail your transcripts, they must be submitted in an official, sealed envelope and sent to:

  3. Pay the $50 non-refundable application fee.

    You can pay your application fee on ApplyTexas, or through RamPort, our portal. You can set up and access your RamPort account here. Fee waivers are available for qualifying students.

If you want to register for one semester or for summer classes at ASU, you must not be on probation (academic or disciplinary) or suspension from the institution where you are currently enrolled. You are encouraged to work with an advisor at your home institution to ensure the coursework you take at ASU is transferable.

Post-Baccalaureate Students

Post-baccalaureate students are those who have already completed a bachelor’s degree, but are seeking additional undergraduate coursework, typically to fulfill prerequisite requirements for graduate school.

If you are an undergraduate student completing their first degree at ASU and are immediately returning to ASU for additional undergraduate coursework, you should complete the Continued Enrollment Form.

  1. Complete an application through ApplyTexas.

    If you received your undergraduate degree from ASU, select “Re-admit” as your application type. (If you are planning on continuous enrollment after graduation, you will need to inform the Registrar’s Office, but do not need to re-apply.)

    If you received your degree from another institution and would like to take undergraduate courses at ASU, select “Transfer” as your application type.
  2. Submit your official transcripts to Angelo State.

    Electronic transcripts are preferred and can allow for faster processing of your application.

Other Students

If you would like to attend ASU as a non-degree seeking student, but do not fit into one of the above categories, please contact the Admissions Office to speak with an admissions counselor about your specific situation.
