Daniel I. Castaneda

Angelo State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Daniel I. Castaneda to the College of Science and Engineering. He began his duties as an assistant professor of Civil Engineering in the David L. Hirschfeld Department of Engineering July 2016.
Dr. Castaneda holds a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering. He is a structural engineer with a specialization in concrete material behavior. His research is focused on using digital image processing to measure material properties of concrete and predict behavior.
Dr. Castaneda is a former National Science Foundation SURGE fellow and a recipient of the NSF Computer Science Engineering Mathematics Scholarship.
Dr. Castaneda will receive his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign August 2016.
