Anthony N. Celso

Security Studies

Angelo State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Anthony Celso to the College of Business. He will begin his duties as Associate Professor of Security Studies in the Department of Security Studies fall 2011.

Dr. Celso has worked at Mount Union College, University of Central Florida, and, for the last 15 years, Valley Forge Military, where he received numerous teaching and graduate awards. He is a specialist in Islamic terrorism and Mediterranean and Middle East Politics.

Last September, Dr. Celso organized a workshop on Islamic terrorism in Spain for the Universityof Tubingen, Germany. He is currently engaged in a research effort looking at the future evolution of Al Qaeda in the post 9-11 world.

He received his PhD at The Ohio State University in 1989.
