Manuel F. Zamora
Security Studies
Angelo State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Manuel Zamora to the College of Business. He began his duties as Assistant Professor of Border Security in the Department of Security Studies Summer I 2011.
Prior to joining the faculty at ASU, Zamora completed 30 years of service with the Houston Police Department, where he managed support, investigations, and field operations as a lieutenant. Zamora brings practical law enforcement experience to the Border Security Program that includes participation in assessment and development of supervisors and commanders in the following jurisdictions: Washington, D.C., Denver, San Francisco, Austin, Portland, Columbus, Little Rock, Jacksonville, Tulsa, Baltimore, Tucson, Miami, Philadelphia, and Houston.
As a doctoral student, he helped develop a doctoral student, peer-reviewed, electronic journal, Perspectives in Social Work, and served as co-editor. Zamora is an honors graduate of the 180th FBI National Academy.
He received his PhD in social work from the University of Houston-University Park.
