Air Force ROTC Information Session
(Rassman Building; Room 227)

If you are interested in becoming a leader and officer in the United States Air Force, this will be a great opportunity to gather information. ROTC offers numerous scholarships and provides students a traditional college life. After completion of a bachelor’s degree, you will be commissioned in the USAF as a second lieutenant with an excellent starting salary.  If this is of interest and you want more information, take the opportunity to speak with Major Valerie Reid and tour our awesome facilities.

Border Security, Criminal Justice, and Cultural Competence and Security Studies
(Academic Building; Room 233)

Are you interested in a career in border security, law enforcement, or the military?  The director of our new Center for Security Studies, Dr. Robert Ehlers, will provide information on two of our newest degree programs here at ASU: Border Security and Cultural Competence & Security Studies.  He will also discuss our Criminal Justice program and how a degree in any of these areas can jump-start a variety of career paths. 

College 101 – A Survival Guide to Applying and Success at ASU
(Academic Building; Room 113)

Academic Advisor, Richard Jones, will provide some general guidance on what you should do during your junior and senior years to ensure success when you apply and attend college at ASU. Also, Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Advisor, Russ Baker, will give more information regarding the TSI tests (THEA, Accuplacer, Asset and Compass) as well as explain the impact of the Texas Success Initiative on your college admissions process and class selection.

Getting Involved at ASU
(University Center; Room 203/204)

Take the opportunity to attend this session to find out what you can do to get involved once you’re at ASU. A representative from the Center for Student Involvement will provide information on how and why you should get involved and the various academic and special interest groups available on campus. In addition, a representative from University Recreation will speak about our campus recreational programming options including the new addition to our recreation facility, intramural sports, outdoor adventures, and fitness programming.  Also, Adriana Balcorta, Multicultural Programs Specialist, will explain the myriad of support and educational programs the Multicultural Center offers ranging from the First Generation RAMS Mentor and Host Family programs to many specialized cultural celebrations. 

Honors Program Introduction
(Honors Lounge on the 3rd floor of the Library)

If you are a highly motivated student interested in a rigorous and stimulating curriculum that goes beyond the traditional college education, the ASU Honors Program may be the perfect fit for you. If you are interested in learning more about our Honors Program opportunities, benefits and scholarships, you should attend this session. Hosted by a staff member dedicated to the Honors Program, you will also have the opportunity to see the inside of the beautiful Honors Lounge and meet current Honors Program students.

How to Select a Major
(UC C.J. Davidson Conference Center)

Are you still unsure of what you want to be when you grow up?  Are you unsure of what degree you need to enter a specific field? Join Julie Ruthenbeck, Director of Career Development, as she goes through the process of selecting a major and provides you with helpful tips and resources

Nursing Information Session
(Math and Computer Science Building; Room 100)

If you are thinking about earning a degree in Nursing, this is the session you don’t want to miss. Dr. Susan Wilkinson, Associate Professor and Department Head of Nursing, will go over what to expect in the nursing school, the pre-requisites that are required, the hands-on experience in the state-of-the-art simulation lab, and the job market after graduation.

This session does not include physical therapy, pharmacy, pre-med, or veterinary medicine.

Pre-Health Professions Information Session
(Cavness Building; Room 100)

If you’re thinking about pursuing the fields of optometry, chiropractic, medicine, dentistry, podiatry, physician’s assistant, this session is for you.  Dr. Russell Wilke, Associate Professor of Biology, will answer questions about what to expect during your undergraduate work, ASU’s impressive success rate, and any other questions related to this field. 

This session does not include physical therapy, pharmacy, nursing, or veterinary medicine. These programs have their own sessions or will be available during the Department Fair.

Pre-Veterinary Medicine
(Vincent Building; Room 250)

If you are thinking about pursuing a career in Veterinary Medicine, this session is for you.  Dr. Gil Engdahl, Agriculture Department Head and Director of the MIR Center, will discuss the pre-veterinary curriculum, ASU’s impressive acceptance rates, expectations for acceptance into Veterinary school, and other career options in the field.  He will be available to answer any questions you may have regarding a career as a Veterinarian.

Studio One @ ASU – Communications/Mass Media/Theatre
(Education & Fine Arts Building; Room 241)

If you would like to know more about a fun performance group that also offers scholarships, then you want to attend this session. Drs. Chris Collins and Jake Simmons, Assistant Professors of Communication, and the Studio One performers would love to show you what they do. “Studio One @ASU” has performances on campus, at local and area high schools, and has the possibility of some travel to Texas state conventions in Communications, Drama, and Journalism. 

Study Abroad

Have you ever dreamed of traveling to new or exotic places?  Want to experience new adventures and meet new people? Did you know that ASU offers many study abroad programs and that all students accepted to a program will receive a scholarship to cover part of the cost associated? If you would like to learn more about our Study Abroad program, join our International Student Services Counselor, Meghan Pace, as she discusses all of the opportunities we have available for you.

Teacher Education and Curriculum & Instruction

If you are thinking about going into the education field, please join College of Education Undergraduate and Graduate Advisor, Meagan Word, for a discussion about what the Teacher Education and Curriculum & Instruction Departments have in store for you.  She will discuss degree plans, certification processes, and our impressive pass rates on the TeXes exams.

Video Game Development
(Math and Computer Science Building; Room 114)

Do you enjoy playing video games?  Are you interested in learning to create and develop games? If so, take the opportunity to learn about our new Computer Game Development Certificate Program. Computer Science Program Director, Dr. Tim Roden, will lead this session and explain how this certificate program integrates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science to help you gain entry into the game development industry. Game on!
