Graduate Programs
Purpose of the Programs
The Angelo State University Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance offers Master of Professional Accountancy and Master of Business Administration in Accounting degrees, accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. These programs consist of 36 hours designed to heighten your broad-based business knowledge to meet employers' expectations while satisfying CPA licensing requirements.
Angelo State University provides two avenues for earning a graduate degree in accounting. Students who have already received a bachelor's degree enroll in the regular Master of Professional Accountancy or MBA in Accounting programs, while outstanding undergraduate students may enroll in the integrated programs.

Admission Requirements
MPA or MBA in Accounting Program
To be granted regular admission to the Plan II Accounting Program, an applicant must:
- Hold a bachelor's degree with a GPA of 2.5 or better, including all grades on repeated courses, or hold a bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.0 or better in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work
- Have a 2.5 GPA in ACC 3303 and ACC 3304, with no grades lower than C (courses may be repeated to satisfy this requirement)
- Satisfy the admission formula. The formula for admission is [GPA (including all repeated grades) times 200] + GMAT score = 1050+
MPA or MBA in Accounting Program
For admission to senior-graduate status in the integrated programs, an applicant must have:
- Completed a minimum of 90 hours of undergraduate credit with an overall GPA of 3.0 or better, including all grades on repeated courses
- Have a 2.5 GPA in ACC 3303 and ACC 3304, with no grades lower than C (courses may be repeated to satisfy this requirement)
- Satisfy the admission formula. The formula for admission is[GPA (including all repeated grades) times 200] + GMAT score = 1050+

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
All applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit the TOEFL. Applicants who hold degrees from colleges or universities where English was the primary language of instruction are not required to submit the TOEFL. The Graduate School requires a minimum TOEFL score of 550. Applicants seeking admission in the fall should take the test before March 1. TOEFL scores should be reported to ASU (code 6644).
